How To (Found A) Students Club
Foundation
An association usually arises from a cause-related initiative, an interest grouping or another idealistic goal.
Here a legally insignificant organization or a registered association (e.V.) can be created.
In the case of the former - usually called an "unregistered association" - all that is required is a name, a description (and a logo).
The foundation of the registered association is done with the help of a notary, an association statute, at least 7 founding members and a non-economic purpose.
The application for foundation becomes legal after the registration notice (2-4 weeks duration).
Whether a registered association is non-profit is checked by the respective tax office.

Rights and duties
Normative law
A registered association is considered a legal entity under the German Civil Code.
This enables criminal actions, as well as the accounting of assets and reserves.
The association's board of directors can be elected through elections and discourses at an ordinary or extraordinary general meeting - mostly regulated in the association's bylaws.
In the case of an unincorporated association, the liability cannot fall on the association.
In this case, the private assets of the members are in the foreground according to the principle of so-called liability to act.
DIT
Associations are usually listed* on the DIT website (name, description, picture, contact details).
If the DIT rooms/premises are to be used for meetings, a university-wide booking request** or an arrangement with the dean's office responsible for the building is advised.
These requests have priority 4 behind classical teaching events***.
Accordingly, it is a good idea to check the availability of a room on Thabella****.
Regarding storage space and general lounges/club rooms, information can be obtained from us or, if necessary, from the Student Convention.
When receiving mail, the DIT address can be used by prior arrangement.
This will be collected at the B-Building Information Point and a notice will be sent to the addressed name each time.
Personal names may have unidentifiable email addresses (vorname.nachname4@stud.th-deg.de), which is why prior arrangement with the mailroom is necessary.

Special Events
In the winter semester, freshmen are usually welcomed with a squeaky guide, a freshman day, and individual info events by the clubs/organizations.
At Christmas, the Studentische Konvent e.V. holds a winter celebration for which clubs can book exclusive, early table reservations.
During the summer semester, university elections to most DIT committees are held, as well as the DIT Day-of-Open-Doors for potential students.
Dissolution
When dissolving an association, it is appropriate to unsubscribe from the listing of student associations on the DIT website and leave a notice in the "Let's Network".
