CW 49/2020 - TV Serie: "Connections" or: how we managed to deep dive into a technical trap

The journalist James Burke is quite famous for his educational, entertaining history tv shows.

In 1978 he saw, what people nowadays begin to struggle with: being depend on technology.

Throughout the total 40 shows he dives deeply into the itterative inventions and processes which lead to our modern equipment,

In case you have read "A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari, I really encourage you to have a look at Mr. James Burke.

He managed to describe our complex historical route through inventions and innovations starting from the very past, by examining our most familiar/essential instruments.
In 1978 he saw, what people nowadays begin to struggle with: our dependancy on technology.

Though nobody can escape the need to allways be "Up-to-date", understanding our tools is definitely a step forwards.
The series is devided into 40 shows and ends with the latest technology back in the 1970-1990s.
Despite all the big revolutions that happened meanwhile, the series does feel as it is referencing the current technology as well as the underlying society.
